Professionalism

It is essential that all persons in the kitchen are capable of using the tools and equipment in a manner which will neither harm them for those who the way they work with. More over they should be aware of the causes of accidents in the people to handle situations when they occur.

Safety is an attitude

Safety is a matter of professionalism

Accidents are caused in various ways;

1. Excessive haste – carelessness
2. Distraction – lack of attention
3. Failure to apply safety rules
4. Horse play in the kitchen

It should be remembered that most accidents can be prevented.

1. Haste: never run; watch your footing an always be aware of your coworkers and their movements.

2. Distraction: not staying focused on what you’re doing, for not paying attention to what your coworkers are doing.
